I am argentinean. Most argentineans have european ancestry, my ancestors were Irish and with a lot of neanthertal features: arms shorter from shoulder to elbow, short height, red hair, legs shorter from knees to feet, and some dental characteristics. I understand that these characteristics are found in other parts of Europe. I think that most people are in denial of our neanderthal ancestors for some unexplained reason, like that some people still to consider them "uglier" and "mentally inferior" to us. Carinos. Maria.

I dont want those daddy long leg/grasshopper legs.if anything the majority of women in the world are below 5'7". That includes marilyn monroe, vida guerra, jessica simpson, kim kardashian,Coco austin, mayra veronica, monica santiago, shakira, sarah lime, salma hayek, carmen electra, renatta frisson and the list goes on. I actually read that shorter women have more estrogen because estrogen is what stops bone grow, testosterone is what increases bone growth! thats why tall girls were given a while ago "Estrogen injections" to halt bone growth.
Shorter women are more feminine, which explain their curves(small waist, big butt, wide hips, thighs, etc)
Men prefer a Kim kardashian body than a 6 foot tall model with toothpick for legs and looks like a prepubescent child! the fashion industry distorted the female form! men liek meat, only dogs like bones! No man wants sticks fo rlegs, they actually are disgusted by that. Men like the opposite of masculinity, which is femininty. Long grasshopper/daddy long legs are not beautiful! and especialyl when therye thin, they look like tootpicks! marilyn monroe wasnt tall but men would choose her over a boy looking 6 foot tall telephone pole body with long stick legs and size 13 feet. All that lack of estrogen got you really rowdy didnt it.

Wait, there's more. From an interview with Amy Stewart "The green-banded broodsac is a worm that lives in the gut of a bird and excretes its eggs in the bird's droppings. In order for those eggs to survive, they have to enter the body of a snail, grow to the next lifecycle, then move up into the snail's tentacles and make them wave around, hoping that a bird will catch sight of them and eat the snail, delivering the worm into the bird's gut so it can finish its lifecycle. "
 Escargot. The French mindset. Coincidence?

Fascinating. As one who loves my food and eats with (polite) gusto, I can't imagine I have ever done this, but I probably have. But I have many questions: How do the two women decide subconsciously who will be the mimicker and who the mimickee? And does this same phenomenon apply to men, who, to my eye, seem to eat like pigs no matter where they are/who they're with?

I got to wondering if there are any "mind control" parasites that affect humans, so I looked up toxoplasma gondii. "Studies have been conducted that show the toxoplasmosis parasite may affect behavior and may present as or be a causative or contributory factor in various psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety and schizophrenia. In 11 of 19 scientific studies, T. gondii antibody levels were found to be significantly higher in individuals affected by first-incidence schizophrenia than in unaffected persons." and so on.
I really have to stop reading your blog right before I try to go to sleep. I definitely am not looking up phorid flies.

The above reason have some validity. While working in the ER some pt whom we needed urine samples from but could not provide where assisted by turning on running water (for the sound) and also putting their hands in warm water - with some it worked...others it didn't. However, for this discussion - scuba diving and jumping in the pool. The real reason why a sense of urination comes is due to the pressure exerted on our bodies by the water. It affects our BNP and NT-proBNP levels. B-Type Natriuretic Peptide is found and released by the heart and brain which help control sodium, and blood pressure. Our brain and heart regulate B/P by using the physical properties of sodium and the fact that water follows salt. When your body is surrounded by water, your B/P increases, brain says, we're going to dump water, BNP sends the salt to overload kidneys and you urinate - regulating pressure and achieving a state of homeostasis... or something like that, I'd have to look up the exact mechanism.

USDA regs for Free Range is that they have access to the outdoors in the form of a small pen that they are not introduced to and does not appear until they are over 20 weeks old. Hence they don't tend to go out there much. The restaunteur that I sell most of my eggs to told me that she had opened some of Pete & Gerry's (the local big organic & natural producer ) and looked at the yolks and thought "Well, this is disappointing. " They were still very pale. Even in winter mine are pretty bright.

I did not know, really, about the big barn method until I called a major producer and asked ab out the statement on their carton (which I was re-using for my eggs. There was a statement about the hens "in a cage-free environment, fed an all-vegetarian diet" I told the woman who answered the phone that, in my experience, that chickens in a free environment would eat bugs, and the last time I had looked, a bug was not a vegetable. She then explained the the giant barn with 15000 birds in and I allowed as that did not seem optimal for the birds or for nice bright yellow yolks! She said I was right and that she would probably prefer the eggs from my hens, but my method is not viable for huge flocks.

I have told many people about the way supermarket eggs are produced and can only hope that the big producers will continue to advance in the effort to provide a truly free-range experience for the birds (preferably without the predator problem I experienced this summer. Part of my flock has permanently taken to roosting in the ladder that is hanging from the roof of my barn, about 16' off the ground!

Chickens also like to sit on sheep. Actually they love to do so. And I really know spring is approaching when I begin to find new nests all over the barn!

I breastfed both my children and was very happy with the arrangement most of the time. My thoughts on this post: 1. The initial learning curve for breastfeeding is very high and can be very painful. When there is no other option, moms suffer through because they have to; when there is another option available, the difficult and painful option no longer seems viable, especially in a society in which "happy" is often equated with "easy". Did the study mention socio-economic status or education? A friend once overheard a discussion in a post-natal office in which a young mom was advising another young mom to not bother with breastfeeding because formula was free when you're on food stamps. 2. Bottle feeding can be very enticing after a baby is 9-12 months because they can more easily do it themselves, allowing mom to do the other 99 Western things she feels she needs to tweet about. Did this study cover all ages and types of moms? An aunt-in-law of mine mentioned that one of her teen-age step-daughters "decided to have a baby" so she could more easily qualify for government assistance. Finally, after having spent many exasperating moments with year-old walking, talking babies while breastfeeding, I worked to have both my children weaned by 13-15 months because they absolutely could be fussy pains in the ass. While telling me all about it. And following me around.

I obviously have not breast fed, but I observed it with my wife and three children. I think that another factor is the mother. My wife enjoyed breast feeding and all three children did not seem particularly cranky. She also used a breast pump for those times when the other 99 distractions got in the way. My daughter-in-law, other the other hand, abandoned the effort almost immediately. All five children involved seem pretty normal (and happy) to me, all five are closely "bonded" to their mothers, so I guess my observations are inconclusive except to suggest that the mother's acceptance of breast feeding needs to be taken into account.

HAHAH! Two is very funny! I think One is too simple. My understanding is the bottle has to be filled and warmed up AFTER the "fussing" begins, so the time delay remains in effect. And infants have to be helped to bottle feed, so Mom still has to take a time-out.

two other thoughts (from someone who has never been a mom)
1) Infants who breast-feed HAVE to complain more loudly to get mom away from the 99 tasks, etc. So they do. Bottle-fed babies just have to glance at the bottle and mom grabs it and hands it over?
2) Infants who breast-feed LOVE it so much they are willing to complain loudly to receive breast milk Babies who are bottle-fed couldn't give a crap about whether they live or die if sucking on plastic is all they have to look forward to in life?

I hope this idea of Massachusetts's spreads to other states. I work in a retail pharmacy where people pick up a bucketful of drugs, yet I could smell the cigarette smoke when they come closer. They are cranky about taking their medicine but don't see that their unhealthy habits contribute to their irritability.
The medicaid recipients use cigarettes as their addiction because unlike upper-class America, they cannot get the costly SSRIs to give them their high.
